My Teachers - The people that took the time to help me become Darrell Roach.

Hussein Abdur Rafi / Roosevelt Perry
Hussein inspired me to make jewelry. I watched him twist copper wire into amazing works. As he twisted my mind was intrigued by the reality that you could take a material that no one really paid much attention to and turn it into something they would adore. To him I owe a great deal of gratitude for what turned into 50,000 plus works from my hands. The larger part of the lesson that pushed me for many years is this saying, " You are only an artist if you have works to prove it, unless you are a bs artist because all they do is talk. Every day since his passing back in 2010 I hear his voice telling me to go further.
